A day at the Texas State Fair usually goes well right up until the end. Then the gates shut and tens of thousands of people reach for their phones in the same minute. The last stretch back becomes the longest hour of your evening. If you have done it once with tired children in tow, you already know the feeling.

We would rather your family remembered the food stalls, Big Tex, and what makes this annual fair so distinctive. That is why the families who return each autumn book our private transportation to the Texas State Fair early. We drop you at the Fair Park entrance you actually wanted. Later, we’ll meet you at the corner we agreed on, so nobody hurries anybody.

Choosing a Date: Weekdays, Weekends, and Rivalry Saturday

Twenty-four consecutive days sound like a single long event, though anybody who visits twice knows otherwise. In recent seasons, the fair has closed at 9 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and at 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday. Confirm the published hours before setting your return time.

The second Saturday of October belongs to the Longhorns and the Sooners at the Cotton Bowl. We would suggest deciding early whether you want to be near it. An afternoon kickoff pushes a full stadium onto the surrounding lanes well ahead of the usual closing wave. The venue alone holds more than 92,000, and the fair sees over 100,000 people through the gates on that Saturday. Some of that crowd makes the drive up from Houston the night prior.

The first and last weekends follow much the same pattern. Traffic tightens as the weeks go on, and the first Tuesday moves far more freely than the last. Ask us about the evening you have in mind, and we will say how it usually runs.

Read a few of our Google reviews, and you will notice how many name a chauffeur personally: “Very nice, clean, modern bus. Great service. Very efficient! Juan was an excellent driver. He was always on time. Very friendly. And a great driver. I highly recommend AJL and driver Juan.”

Love Field or DFW: What Matters Most on Fair Morning

Guests flying in face a real choice, and we are glad to talk it through with you:

  • Dallas Love Field Airport sits roughly 10 miles away, and its compact terminal clears arrivals quickly.
  • Roughly twice that distance, DFW International Airport carries many more nonstops, though we add 30 minutes to every collection through peak season.

Landing late morning at the closer airport still puts you through the turnstiles in good time for the kickoff. The larger airport leaves almost no margin on rivalry weekend once that extra half hour is in play, and the two differ in ways the mileage hides. Flight watching is the smallest part of our Texas State Fair limo service. On a tight morning, it is also the most useful. When the flight time changes, we adjust the planned pickup instead of expecting you to meet the original schedule.

As part of the airport transfer, your chauffeur will be waiting inside the terminal at a spot you agreed, then walk you out. Nobody circles a garage looking for a black SUV among forty others.

Why the End of the Night Needs a Plan

Rideshares and taxis all route to 4206 Gurley Avenue, and at 4 p.m. that address does its job nicely. By 10 p.m., it holds a line, and prices on the apps climb as you inch along. The youngest member of your party has usually reached their limit by then.

Parents ask us about this more than anything else, so let us answer it plainly. You name a meeting corner earlier in the day, and we wait a short distance away. When you step out, your chauffeur greets you by name. Nobody stands on a dark curb with a sleeping four-year-old, refreshing an app. None of that is luck. It is simply how our Texas State Fair car service operates during peak dates.

It matters most if:

  • You intend to arrive at 10 a.m. and finish at the last bell.
  • Grandparents or small children are with you, and the published staging address adds a long extra walk.
  • Your group splits up between the stadium and the rest of the grounds on rivalry Saturday.
  • You have a dinner reservation afterward and no appetite for a second queue.

On the later closings, we set the meeting time earlier. Ten minutes of head start on the bell is worth twenty on the road. The lanes take roughly 40 minutes to loosen after a late finish.

What Our Fleet Does for Texas State Fair Trips

Most groups think about the way in, then wish they had thought about the way back. Tell us the size of your party and the hour you expect to leave. Five or six hours covers a full visit for families with children, and the final stretch decides what fits:

  • Couples arriving for the kickoff usually choose our Electric Sedan. It fits their luggage and gets them to a hotel by evening, with no parking lot involved.
  • For families, our SUV earns its place at the end of the night. Six seats, and cargo room that still works once the stroller, the wagon, and an armful of prizes come home with you.
  • Bigger parties appreciate what thirteen seats do once everybody heads for the exits: one departure, one return, nobody left behind. The venue publishes no designated area for large vehicles. We stage our Sprinter off-site and bring it round when you are ready.

The Full Visit with Our Transportation to the State Fair of Texas

For over 30 years, we at AJL International have worked these roads. The autumn stretch is one of the busiest we cover. Rivalry weekend, opening Friday and the closing Sunday fill first. Tell us the date and where you would like to begin, and we will set aside a vehicle sized for your group. We take care of the drop-off and the return with our private transportation to the State Fair of Texas. The vehicle waits at the corner, not somewhere in a queue.

You will find us at (800) 546-6508, at info@AJLinternational.com, or on the reservation form if that is simpler.

Questions We Hear Every Autumn

How early should we set off on rivalry Saturday?

The kickoff is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, October 10, 2026. Fair and stadium access times may differ from the normal daily schedule, so confirm the official rivalry-day opening times before finalizing your pickup. We suggest a late-morning start, which puts you inside while the stadium crowd is still on its way.

What if half our party comes to the Texas State Fair by rail?

We collect them at MLK Jr. Station on the south side of the grounds, then bring both halves to a single entrance. Tell us at booking, and we will time the two arrivals within a few minutes of each other.
